Koichi (b. 1981, Vietnam) is a contemporary artist living and working in Ho Chi Minh City. Engaging primarily with lenticular and neon, Koichi incorporates digital imagery technology to explore themes of cultural hybridity and body positivity. His works engage with a playful fusion of traditional Japanese art with the pulsating rhythms of contemporary pop culture.

Koichi’s lenticular pieces are notable for their ability to capture fleeting moments. This technique, which shifts images based on the viewer's angle, reflects his childhood fascination with lenticular rulers. By meticulously studying and developing these techniques, Koichi creates dynamic artworks that emphasise the fluidity and motion, drawing viewers into an interactive experience.

Koichi employs AI technology to create images based on his own face, which allows him to further personalise his work, blending technology with his unique artistic vision to produce pieces that resonate on a deeply personal level.

Koichi's works have entered private collections across Singapore and China.

Amidst a world shadowed by uncertainty, Koichi’s art stands as a timely reminder to the beauty found in joy, in movement, and in the celebration of one’s identity. His sumo images remind us that life, with all its ephemeral moments, is a dance to be cherished.
